Spring and Alternative Spring Break!

So the spring semester has been busy and fun-filled, and we clearly need to get better about blogging for you all, but here are some updates of what we have been doing, as well as some information about our Alternative Spring Break trip to New Orleans.
In February we joined Trinity Hillel for their Hadag Nahash concert and dinner where our students met the band! We also did our first Purim Potluck Dinner, which was a great success; many students helped cook a great meal that over forty people enjoyed!
March went super quick, but was filled with great events including Alternative Spring Break and Passover Seder.
Alternative Spring Break was a wonderful experience, Hartford Hillel took 11 students to New Orleans with Jewish Funds for Justice to work in the Lower Ninth Ward doing Hurricane Katrina relief work. We worked really hard during the week and provided over 300 hours of service work as a group! We also enjoyed some of the city, visiting Preservation Hall and Bourbon Street. We're really looking forward to next year!
First night Passover Seder led by students and university President Walter Harrison and his wife, Diane, was a lot of fun as always. We also offered kosher-for-Passover meals each night during Passover, so that students didn't have to starve.

We're winding up a busy semester, but we've still got some great events planned!

Students at The Women's Seder led by Debbie Friedman, 820 women from the state joined together for the Seder!
